Happy Halloween!

It’s unfortunate that it’s 70 degrees outside, because Marcus is going to be wearing this outfit all weekend. It’s so cute I just can’t stand to take him out of it.

Katie + Sam

Oh, how I love backyard weddings. I had one myself a few years ago and there’s something so intimate about having your closest friends and family over to celebrate nuptials on family ground. Katie and Sam had some pretty impressive grounds to celebrate on, too. They were married at Holy Spirit on John’s Island by their local bishop from back home and then held their reception at Katie’s grandparent’s nearby amazing, wooded waterfront property. Several of the property’s trees are registered with the National Register of Historic Trees. It was a hot day for September but there was just enough breeze to blow the thick moss hanging from branches that seemed to stretch on forever. The centerpieces were plucked from the garden and Katie’s cousins pitched in to ice the cupcakes, too.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Click here for the entire event.

Gately and Mikell are married!

After so much preparation, Gately and Mikell tied the knot over Labor Day weekend in a ceremony at St John the Baptist followed by a reception at the always lovely William Aiken House. Their bright, jewel toned palette made the usual eye-catching yellow background of house just quietly fade away. Color popped from every corner of the venue, from the grand magnolia to the specialty cocktails. Gately’s bridesmaids each wore a custom dress in varying shades of turquoise and fuchsia and carried soft pink bouquets from Lotus Flower. The ladies at WED pulled it all off and the Big Swing Ballroom Blasters made the night just fly by. Congratulations Gatley and Mikell and thank you for letting me capture your big day!
