Ever since I was a child I’ve wanted to be a photographer. There was a brief period where I considered a career in veterinary medicine but a profound phobia of needles and blood took care of that in a jiffy. It was when I was working on my MFA in photography at Virginia Commonwealth University thinking that I wanted to pursue an academic path when I started to shoot weddings. I quickly found that I love the pace and excitement of weddings far more than the classroom environment.

Shooting weddings offers me a chance to witness and record the most exciting day in your life. Even if I’ve shot at the same venue a hundred times, the light, the color palette, the songs, the sweets, the people and all the special details are always unique. It’s my privilege to be a part of it.

Photography aside, I love doing anything in salt water, hot Charleston summers and making pancakes for breakfast.

I jsut looked through Amanda and Ian’s photos. Stunning. You did such a beautiful job. And I swear, I think I only saw you once after the formal photos, and that was laying on the dance floor in the middle of our circle! Ok, so I visited your blog to see if you happened to have blogged on their wedding…so I’ll be back;)
